24-Port PoE Switches
What to specify in a 24-port PoE switch for small offices, retail sites and compact camera systems.
A 24-port PoE switch is one size to consider for small offices, retail sites, classrooms and compact camera systems. This page explains how to specify one and shows what is listed on this site today: no 24-port PoE model is currently listed. The PoE models currently listed are two 48-port units, shown below for reference. Confirm any 24-port PoE requirement per inquiry, part number by part number.
What a 24-Port PoE Switch Is For
In the 24-port class, one device delivers data and power to access points, IP phones, cameras and door controllers, while leaving room for uplinks to the core. Consider it when a site has more powered devices than a compact desktop unit can serve, but not enough to justify a 48-port chassis. This page is written for:
- System integrators fitting out branch offices and retail sites
- Security installers building small camera networks
- IT teams refreshing access switches in satellite offices
Currently Listed PoE Models (48-Port)
The table shows the PoE models currently listed on this site. Neither is a 24-port unit; they are relevant where a project needs more powered ports.
| Model | Key specification (as listed) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| EX4300-48P | 48-port PoE+ Gigabit | 48-port model; see 48-port PoE switches |
| JL686A | 176 Gbps enterprise switch, 48 PoE ports | 48-port model; see 48-port PoE switches |
How to Specify a 24-Port PoE Switch
Three details decide which 24-port unit fits a site, and they should be written into any inquiry:
- Port speed — for example Gigabit access ports, or multi-gigabit where Wi-Fi 6/6E access points need it.
- PoE standard and budget — 802.3af, 802.3at (PoE+) or 802.3bt, plus the total power the switch must deliver across all ports. Our guide to calculating a PoE budget shows the arithmetic.
- Uplink type — copper, or fibre via SFP/SFP+ cages.
Also decide whether you need management (VLANs, per-port power control, monitoring) or a plug-and-play unit; the managed vs unmanaged guide covers the trade-off.
Before You Order
Because no 24-port PoE model is listed, send the exact brand and part number you want, or the three specification points above, and confirm availability, price and delivery time with the sales team before ordering. General terms on supplied equipment: minimum order from 1 unit; payment by T/T, D/P or D/A; 1-year warranty. If your site needs more powered ports, review the listed 48-port PoE switches or the PoE switches overview.
